This page covers auto electrical repair in Knoxville: starting, charging, lighting and vehicle wiring concerns. For a no-start or intermittent electrical fault, call (865) 606-6602 with the vehicle details and what happens when you try to start it. Confirm service availability with Johnson's Auto Service at 712 N Wooddale Rd.
No crank, slow crank or cranks without starting?
These observations lead to different checks. Note whether the starter turns the engine, whether lights dim and whether a jump-start changed anything. Mention how long the car had been parked and any recently installed accessories. A successful jump-start does not, by itself, prove that replacing the battery is the whole repair.
Ask the shop to explain the test results behind a battery, alternator or starter recommendation. If the car repeatedly loses charge while parked, include that pattern on the work order so an intermittent drain is not mistaken for an isolated flat battery. See battery replacement information for a confirmed battery problem.
What helps with an intermittent fault?
Record the conditions while parked: rain or dry weather, cold or warm engine, accessories in use and warning messages. A photograph of the display is useful; dismantling wiring to find something to show the shop can create a second problem. State any recent battery, stereo, lighting or body repairs.
Ask what the diagnostic appointment includes, how much time is initially authorized and what happens if the fault does not appear during the visit. Intermittent problems may need an agreed observation plan rather than speculative parts replacement.
Confirm specialist electrical work before transport
For a hybrid or electric vehicle, identify the exact fault and powertrain. High-voltage-system work is a separate capability from conventional starting and lighting repairs; call to confirm it. For a running problem with a warning light, also review check-engine diagnostics.
Current hours are Mon–Fri 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, closed Sat–Sun. Confirm the appointment before arranging transport from Powell, Strawberry Plains or another Knoxville-area location.
